What Is Psychological Assessment?

Psychological assessment evaluates cognitive, emotional, & behavioural functioning to identify conditions such as ADHD, mood or anxiety disorders, trauma-related difficulties and other symptoms. Assessments provide:

  • Evidence-based testing to guide accurate differential diagnosis
  • A clearer picture of how attention, mood, anxiety, and trauma are affecting you
  • Recommendations for treatment, or accommodations

Adults and adolescents over 15 years experiencing attention, mood, anxiety, or trauma-related difficulties, or suspected ADHD or attention or emotion regulation challenges.

Yes. Intake, interviews, and other testing components can be conducted securely online. Psychological Assessment with us can be accessed from anywhere in Ontario (and some Eastern provinces such as Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia).

Assessments vary depending on complexity but usually take 2–5 hours. Some assessments require an additional fee to cover standardized testing (usually $112-$225).  Fees are typically covered by extended health benefits, and reduced fee options may be available.

You will receive a report outlining findings, diagnoses (if applicable), and recommendations for therapy, accommodations, or coping strategies. You will be given the option for therapy if you would like, or we can assist with a referral if needed.

We routinely complete WSIB and VA assessments.

We do not conduct custody and access evaluations, forensic assessments or neurological assessments. We do not assess for ASD (we screen & arrange a referral if needed) or learning disabilities.
