All services at our practice are provided within the regulated scope of psychological services under the College of Psychologists & Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO).
Dr. Jennifer Barbera, PhD, C.Psych., reviews each intake and provides ongoing clinical supervision to ensure high standards of care and thoughtful case formulation.
As a psychology practice, we are trained in both psychotherapy and formal psychological assessment, including differential diagnosis. This allows us to clarify concerns when needed and tailor treatment accordingly.
Our clinicians bring extensive clinical training and experience in evidence-based approaches for anxiety, mood, and trauma-related concerns.
Counselling and psychotherapy both involve talking with a trained professional to address emotional, behavioural, and relational concerns. Psychotherapy typically refers to structured, evidence-based treatment for conditions such as anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Psychologists are regulated by the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPBAO). In addition to providing psychotherapy, psychologists are trained in formal psychological assessment and differential diagnosis. This means they can assess symptoms, clarify diagnoses when appropriate, and integrate assessment findings into treatment planning.
At our practice, all services fall within the regulated scope of psychological services. We provide psychotherapy and, when needed, comprehensive psychological assessment to help clients better understand their concerns and receive targeted care.
Evidence-based treatment means using therapies that have been scientifically studied and shown to work for specific issues, rather than relying on guesswork, trends, or only supportive counselling. Most of us are trained in:
CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy)
ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy)
DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy)
EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy)
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization, and Reprocessing)
IFS (Internal Family Systems)
Memory Reconsolidation (Coherence Therapy)
