Online counselling has never been more accessible:

Looking for the easiest way to access counselling? Before the pandemic psychological services were not openly available online. Today you can access psychological services, including psychotherapy and counselling directed by a psychologist, from the comfort of your own home from anywhere in Ontario. Some people even prefer a combination of in-person and virtual services. 


Why do people like the option of online counselling?


*People are busy. Accessing counselling online saves time because you don’t have to drive to an office.


*Plans change. Sometimes people like the option of being able to switch to an online appointment when their schedule changes.


*Many people are visual learners. An online counselling format allows for the therapist to use a whiteboard and other media resources to demonstrate concepts and skills in an informative and interesting way.


*Some people feel more comfortable at home. Online counselling can help people access psychological services that they might otherwise be more reluctant to seek out. People with agoraphobia or anxiety about leaving home can now access services much more easily. 


*The process is the same. Whether you access psychological services from home or at the office, the same process such as connecting with a therapist, having a safe neutral space to explore your concerns, and receiving information and learning new skills to help you cope is the same.
